Caroline Lippie Eakins

labor & employment, employee benefits

Caroline concentrates her law practice in labor and employment law and employee benefits. She advises employers and employees on a wide range of workplace matters, including compliance and disputes involving Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). She represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and various other government agencies. She works internally with employers and human resources teams to develop and update workplace essentials like employee handbooks, policies, and employment agreements such as noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements. Before expanding her management-side practice, Caroline represented organized labor organizations in collective bargaining, contract interpretation, grievance proceedings, and labor arbitration. She also worked closely with multi-employer benefit plans, assisting with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) compliance, fiduciary obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Caroline’s diverse background in both management and union representation, employee benefits, and workplace compliance allows her to deliver practical, strategic guidance tailored to real-world employment challenges. Clients value her analytical approach and her ability to clearly outline issues, options, and strategies for risk mitigation and dispute resolution.

A Fort Wayne native, Caroline is pleased to return to her hometown. She enjoys contributing to the Fort Wayne community and exploring the region’s restaurants and arts scene.
