Dennis has been named to the list of Best Lawyers in America since 2007 in the areas of Tax Law and Tax Controversy. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been selected as an Indiana Super Lawyer numerous times over his career.
Dennis brings more than 30 years of experience representing public and private businesses and high net worth individuals. While his roots are in M & A and tax, Dennis practices significantly in corporate governance. Dennis was previously a partner with an Am Law 100 law firm. He represented clients in significant business transactions ranging in transaction values from $1 million to amounts in excess of $100 million. Dennis has lectured on corporate governance, M & A, and tax issues both state and nation-wide, to in-house counsel, certified public accountants, and attorneys.
Early in his career Dennis practiced for 6 years as a certified public accountant and tax specialist with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) in its Washington D.C. tax office.
Dennis serves on the Board of Directors of a number of companies, most significantly: (i) nationwide health and retirement plan marketing and servicing company ($4 billion in assets); (ii) US company with a worldwide brand product; and (iii) nationwide federal chartered credit union.
Dennis previously served as President of the Indiana State Bar Association, Taxation Section. He has served on special committees of Indiana-Purdue University (Fort Wayne) and Georgetown University Law Center. He was awarded by Indiana-Purdue University the Broyles Medal for his unique and significant contribution to the universities. He has served on numerous community board of directors, most significantly, as Chairman of the Matthew 25, Inc. (free health clinic for uninsureds serving NE Indiana and NW Ohio) and Chairman of The Lutheran Foundation, Inc. ($200 million foundaton serving NE Indiana).
